DAVID J. COVER, CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
David J. Cover is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Security National Trust Company. Prior to joining Security in 2016,
he was a Senior Vice President and Market Trust Director for US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in Providence,
RI. He holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Penn State University, an MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a
certificate in financial planning from The American College.
David is a native of the Johnstown Pennsylvania area. He has been in the wealth management business since 1986 and has held senior
leadership positions with various trust organizations since 1999. His background includes significant career stints in a fiduciary
capacity in Johnstown and York, Pennsylvania, gaining hands-on experience through positions as a trust officer, financial advisor
with Merrill Lynch (a division of BofA), trust controller, and an early-career position as an accountant. He also led a team of
portfolio managers for a registered investment advisory firm that served high net worth clients throughout the U.S.
David has been an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, serving on the executive boards of a number of local councils,
having held the positions of president, council commissioner and council treasurer. In 2011, he was presented with The Silver Beaver
Award in recognition of his many years of service to Scouting. He has also been a member of the Christian Business Men’s Connection.
HEATHER R. JOHNSON, Investment Officer
Heather R. Johnson is the Investment Operations Analyst for Security National Trust Company. In that role, she performs asset collection, asset valuation, and implements corporate actions. She also works directly with the Chief Investment Officer in managing portfolios by developing trade programs, providing portfolio analysis, and preparing client presentations.
Prior to joining Security National in 2020, Heather had 8 years of financial services industry experience with UBS Financial Services at its branch office in Pittsburgh. During her tenure with UBS, she worked as a Client Service Associate and mostly recently was the Branch Office Administrator.
Her academic education includes a B. S. degree in Business Administration, Finance from West Virginia University, and she earned the MBA degree from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
Michael J. Coombe, CTFA PRESIDENT
Michael J. Coombe, CTFA, is President of Security National Trust Company. Mike has over 25 years of wealth management/financial services experience. Prior to joining Security National Trust in 2012, Mike worked for 19 years at Wells Fargo Bank most recently as the Trust Team Manager at the Investment & Fiduciary Services Center in Lancaster, PA. He is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School and is a Certified Trust & Financial Advisor. Mike graduated Summa Cum Laude from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration majoring in finance. Mike is a member of the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council and Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. He is a 20+ year committee chair of the Central Berks American Cancer Society and serves on the grant review committee for the Lancaster Community Foundation.
MELONY S. FITZWATER, Executive Vice President & Fiduciary Market Director
Melony S. Fitzwater is a Executive Vice President & Fiduciary Market Director for Security National Trust Company. She also serves as the Huntington Office Manager. Melony has more than 28 years of experience in trust, investments and estate planning having previously served as a Trust officer for JP Morgan in Huntington. She began her career with The First Huntington National Bank, a predecessor to JP Morgan, in 1992. Melony attended Marshall University, Trust Schools at Cannon Financial Institute, Midwest Trust School and JPMorgan Trust School. Melony is the immediate past President and current Member of the Greater Huntington Estate Planning Council, former Treasurer of the Board of Dress for Success of the River Cities and Current Board Member for Faith in Action of the River Cities. Melony resides in Culloden, WV.
WILLIAM L. PARAS, Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer
William L. Paras is Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer of Security National Trust Company. Mr. Paras has more than
20 years of investment management experience in developing and communicating tailored investment strategies for clients. Prior to joining
Security National Trust in 2004, Mr. Paras served as Vice President and Trust Investment Officer at United Bank in Wheeling, WV. Bill also
held investment positions at Rockland Trust Company in Rockland, Massachusetts and at Wesbanco Bank in Wheeling. A graduate of Wheeling Jesuit
University, Bill also holds an MBA from Boston University.
H. EDWARD JOHNSON, Executive Vice President & Fiduciary Market Director
H. Edward Johnson is Executive Vice President & Fiduciary Market Director of Security National Trust Company. Mr. Johnson has over 28 years of personal trust and estate experience. Prior to joining Security, Mr. Johnson served as Vice President of JP Morgan and its predecessors here in Wheeling. He is a native of Wellsburg, West Virginia and is a graduate of West Virginia University with a B.S. in Accounting and the West Virginia University College of Law. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar.
THOMAS A. RUEHLING, CRSP, CMFC SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT / RETIREMENT SERVICES
Thomas A. Ruehling is Senior Vice President – Retirement Services for Security National Trust Company. Prior to joining Security in 2013,
Tom served in various retirement services capacities with Branch Banking and Trust Company in Winston Salem, North Carolina, most recently
serving as Vice President/State Trust Department Manager. Mr. Ruehling is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has over 30 years of
experience in the retirement services area. He is a Certified Retirement Services Professional (CRSP) and a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor
(CMFC) and is on the Estate Planning Council of the Upper Ohio Valley.
HEIDI A. KOSSUTH, VICE PRESIDENT / TRUST OFFICER
Heidi A. Kossuth is a Vice President and Trust Officer of Security National Trust Company. Ms. Kossuth has more than 29 years of legal experience and began
her career in Charleston, West Virginia serving individual clients in the areas of estate planning, family law and special needs planning. Subsequently she
incorporated oil and gas leasing and development into her practice. Ms. Kossuth is a native of Wheeling, West Virginia and a graduate of Bethany College and
the West Virginia University College of Law. She is a member of Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA), Women’s Giving Circle, the City of
Wheeling Arts and Cultural Commission and the West Virginia State Bar.
ELISABETH A. SLATER, VICE PRESIDENT / TRUST OFFICER
Elisabeth A. Slater is Vice-President and Trust Officer at Security National Trust Company. Most recently, Ms. Slater practiced law in West Virginia,
Ohio and Pennsylvania, focusing in the areas of employment defense and health care litigation/HIPAA. She also represented numerous individuals and
banks in Conservatorship/Guardianship proceedings and in litigation related to Trust Administration. Ms. Slater’s diverse legal background brings a
unique perspective to clients and she recognizes the complex financial and emotional issues of trust and estate administration.
Ms. Slater is a graduate of Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy, The American University and Duquesne University School of Law. Upon graduation,
she was a law clerk to the Honorable Arthur M. Recht, Judge, First Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. She has served on numerous boards including
Northern Panhandle Head Start and CASA for Children (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and Mountaineer Autism Project. She is currently a member
of the Women’s Giving Circle; Sustainer, Junior League of Wheeling; and President of the Ohio Valley Medical Center Auxiliary Board. Ms. Slater is
a member of the West Virginia State Bar, Ohio Supreme Court and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and Defense Research Institute. She resides in
Wheeling with her husband and Golden Retrievers.
RICHARD CORROON, CTFA VICE PRESIDENT / SENIOR TRUST OFFICER
Richard A. Coroon, CTFA is Vice President and Trust Officer for Security National Trust Company. Dick is a Certified Trust and
Financial Advisor with 30 years of experience in the trust and investment fields. He most recently served as Vice President and
Trust Officer with National Penn Investors Trust Company in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree
from Roanoke College and is also a graduate of the Southern Trust School.
MAX NOROWZI, VICE PRESIDENT, TRUST OFFICER
Max Norowzi is Vice President and Trust Officer for Security National Trust Company.
Prior to joining Security National Trust Company, Max was most recently a Fiduciary Advisor at PNC
Wealth Management in Lancaster where he managed personal trust funds for high-net worth families
and advised clients on estate planning and wealth transfer matters.
Before relocating to Lancaster County, Max worked for Abbot Downing in Philadelphia where he served
as a Trust Officer for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
Max is a graduate of Campbell University, NC with a BBA majoring in Trust & Wealth Management and a minor in financial planning.
As an experienced Fiduciary, Max is dedicated to helping individuals and families build, preserve and
transition their wealth.
Additionally, Max is active in the community and is a volunteer at the Water Street Mission as well as
the Emerald Foundation. Max is also a Board Member of the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council.
SARAH KURTZ, TRUST OFFICER
Sarah Kurtz is Trust Officer for the Lancaster office. Mrs. Kurtz has prior banking experience with Sovereign Bank in Lancaster.
She most recently served as Historic Preservation Specialist for the City of Lancaster. Mrs. Kurtz received her Bachelor of Arts
from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland and a Graduate Certification in Education from Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania.
